e3 Cares: Supporting Hearing Health & Community Outreach

At e3 Diagnostics, hearing health is more than the work we do—it is the reason we exist. Every calibration, installation, and training session ultimately supports a patient and the professionals who care for them. e3 Cares was created to turn that purpose into action by mobilizing employees across the organization to support hearing wellness in the communities we serve and in regions where access to hearing care is still limited.

Now a formal, company‑funded program with a dedicated committee of employees from across sales, service, administration, and leadership, e3 Cares reflects our long‑standing commitment to patient‑first thinking and responsible clinical stewardship.

What Is e3 Cares?

e3 Cares is an internal charitable and outreach program led by employees across e3 Diagnostics. While not a 501©(3), the program operates with a defined structure that includes:

  • A dedicated yearly budget
  • A monthly committee with representation from sales, service, administration, and leadership
  • Participation from employees in Arlington Heights and regional offices nationwide

e3 Cares centers its work around three pillars:

  • Community Outreach
  • International Humanitarian Support
  • Internal Hearing Health Promotion

These pillars enable the program to support clinicians, increase access to care, and raise awareness of hearing wellness across communities.

Community Outreach

Walk4Hearing

One of the most visible initiatives supported by e3 Cares is participation in Walk4Hearing, a national event organized by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). The event raises awareness and funding for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Teams across e3 Diagnostics participate annually in the Chicago event, along with additional satellite walks in regional offices. This initiative brings employees together and reinforces our commitment to hearing health advocacy.

International Humanitarian Support

Partnership with Hear For A Purpose

e3 Cares partners with Hear For A Purpose, a nonprofit with strong connections to members of the e3 Diagnostics community. Through this partnership, volunteers participate in annual humanitarian trips to the Dominican Republic, where they support hearing health by providing:

  • Hearing screenings
  • Ear impressions
  • Device fittings

e3 Diagnostics contributes through:

  • Diagnostic equipment donations
  • A fully installed sound booth
  • Supplies provided through mye3Shop
  • Technical expertise from field specialists and service technicians

Employees including Steve Wood, Jim Becker, Tracie Tuss, and scholarship recipients such as Phil Renner have taken part in this work on‑site. The partnership has also expanded to include participation from colleagues at Hearing Screening Associates.

Scholarship‑Supported Volunteerism

To support equitable access to international volunteer opportunities, e3 Cares offers scholarship funding for employees who wish to participate in humanitarian trips. A structured application and selection process guides participation and helps ensure fairness and representation across teams.

Expanding Global Impact

Beyond the Dominican Republic mission, employees from e3 Diagnostics participate in additional annual service trips—such as ongoing hearing health initiatives in Honduras. Expanding support for multiple international trips remains an active goal for the program.

Internal Hearing Health Promotion

e3 Cares also supports hearing wellness among employees. At internal sales, technical, and administrative meetings, staff receive hearing screenings. These initiatives bring our mission full circle—raising awareness, modeling best practices, and inspiring a culture of preventative hearing health.

Turning Purpose into Action

e3 Cares represents the heart of our organization—turning our daily work in hearing diagnostics into meaningful, community‑driven impact. Through outreach, humanitarian service, and support for employees’ own hearing health, the program reflects our commitment to patient‑first thinking and responsible clinical stewardship.
